On Aug. 26, 2019, Life Care Centers of America honored Sam L’Allier, the new executive director at Hallmark Manor in Federal Way, Washington, with one of two President’s Awards for the Northwest Division.
The honor, given during Life Care’s annual management meeting at its headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, recognizes distinguished service in a long-term health care management role. The Northwest Division includes 26 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
L’Allier, who recently served as executive director at Life Care Center of Federal Way, Washington, was praised for her caring and servant leadership.
“Samantha will roll up her sleeves and work in any department doing anything if it will help her employees and residents,” said Mark Cenis, regional vice president.
For example, L’Allier took a resident with behavioral challenges under her wing. He would visit her daily. She was kind to him and learned his likes, dislikes and triggers and was able to share that with his other caregivers so they could care for him better.
“Sam has demonstrated professional skill and compassion in dispatching her responsibilities to the associates, residents and families she serves,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “She has uniquely demonstrated a leadership style for others to emulate. This is a distinguished award to receive because it goes to the heart of our mission.”
Fifteen President’s Awards are presented annually to leaders of overall successful facilities or organizations within Life Care.
